The app says zero. The inverter is blinking red. The inspector flagged the install and the company that did it does not answer the phone. We have been behind a lot of solar jobs in North Georgia, and we fix them: diagnose, repair, and bring the whole system up to code.
Solar systems are quiet, so problems hide. Production drops and nobody notices until the bill goes up. An inverter faults and sits there for months with a red light nobody reads. A roof leak turns out to be a bad flashing under a panel. A home sale stalls because the buyer's inspector finds an unpermitted tie-in. A storm takes a limb through two panels. And too often, the original installer is out of business, out of state, or only answering the phone for new sales.

Troubleshooting and diagnosis. Why the system is producing less than it should, or nothing at all. We read the monitoring and the inverter fault log, then test at the array and the panel, and we tell you what is wrong in plain words before we quote the fix.
Inverter faults and replacement. SolarEdge, Enphase, Sol-Ark and other common inverters and optimizers. A faulted inverter is the single most common reason a system reads zero. Sometimes it is a reset and a firmware update. Sometimes it is a warranty replacement we handle with the manufacturer. Sometimes the unit is out of warranty and gets replaced with a current model.
Wiring, connectors and disconnects. The places where a rushed install fails first: corroded or mismatched connectors under the panels, wire that was never in conduit, loose lugs on a backfed breaker, a DC disconnect that was never rated for the job. We find them with a meter, not a guess.
Code correction. Fixing the work so it passes inspection: disconnects where the code puts them, labeling, grounding and bonding of the racking, panel backfeed within the 120 percent rule, rapid shutdown, and the permit closed with the county.
Panel removal and reinstall. For a new roof, storm damage, or a leak repair. We detach, store and label the array, work with your roofer, reinstall with new flashing, and re-commission.
Battery repair and replacement. Battery systems that stopped backing up, stopped charging, or never got their utility interconnection approval, and replacement of failed modules.
Monitoring setup. Getting the app to show what the system is actually doing, so the next problem does not hide for six months.
Most of our repair calls are on systems someone else put in. If the equipment is sound, we fix it. If the design was wrong, we tell you what it takes to make it right and quote it in writing, and you decide. You do not need to have bought from us, and we do not tell you the whole system has to come down when it does not.
Solar is an electrical system, and a lot of solar was installed by crews who were not electricians. We see backfed breakers that exceed what the panel allows, missing or wrongly placed disconnects, ungrounded racking, wire runs that were never in conduit, junction boxes left open under the array, and tie-ins that were never permitted at all. Each of those is a fire or shock risk and a failed inspection waiting to happen, and each will surface the day you sell the house. We correct them to the code the county enforces, pull a permit where there never was one, and get it closed with the inspector.
Every repair starts with a free on-site evaluation. You get a flat-rate written quote before any work begins, and the number covers the diagnosis, the parts and the labor, so there is no surprise on the invoice. What moves the price is what we find: a reset and a firmware update is the low end. An inverter replacement, a rewire under the array, or a detach-and-reinstall for a new roof is the high end. If the original installer's warranty still applies, we tell you, and we document the job the way the manufacturer needs it. If storm damage is involved, we document it the way your insurer needs it.
Manufacturer warranties. Panels, inverters and optimizers carry their own warranties, usually longer than the installer stayed in business. We handle the claim with the manufacturer where the part is covered, so you pay for the labor, not the equipment.
Homeowner's insurance. Wind, hail and tree damage to an array are often covered. We photograph and write up the damage and the repair, and we give you the itemized invoice the adjuster asks for.
Paying for a larger repair. A full inverter replacement or a rewire is a real expense. Ask us about payment options when we quote. We will tell you plainly what is available.
We start with the monitoring, if there is any, and the inverter's fault log. Then we test at the array: string voltages, insulation resistance, connectors, and the DC and AC disconnects. Then the panel: the backfed breaker, the lugs, the grounding. Most problems show up in the first hour. A failed optimizer, a chewed wire, a loose lug on a backfed breaker, a tripped rapid-shutdown device, a ground fault from water in a connector. We repair on the spot when we have the part, and we show you the production number on the monitoring before we leave.
When a roof needs replacing, the panels come off and go back on. Doing it wrong means a leak, a lost warranty, or a system that never gets reconnected right. We coordinate with your roofer: remove and store the array, mark every string and every connector, and reinstall with new flashing and new sealant once the roof is done. Then we re-commission, check every string, and confirm production against what the system made before. Two visits, scheduled around the roofer.
We service commercial arrays and farm ground-mounts too: underperforming strings, inverter replacement, combiner box faults, a monitoring gateway that stopped reporting, and interconnection issues with the utility. If your facility inherited a system with the building, we can tell you what you have, whether it is producing what it should, and what it needs. See our commercial solar page for maintenance plans that keep it from getting to this point.
Most solar repair calls start the same way: the company that installed it is gone, and the customer has been living with a system that reads zero. Ask us for references from repair customers near you.
